If someone wrote a book about your life, what would the title be?

She Finds Her Voice

I’m an introvert. A common misconception about introverts is that we are shy, I assure you I am not! I’ve always been quiet. I still am for the most part, but teaching yoga has literally changed my life. I never thought I had anything interesting or valuable to say, especially in front of a group of people.. I now realize that I do (not just in teaching) and that’s pretty powerful.

How long have you been practicing yoga?

14 years. I started practicing when I had debilitating shoulder pain and carpal tunnel. It was a godsend for both!

What made you want to become a yoga instructor?

Yoga has made me feel so physically and mentally well that I wanted to share that magic with others.

What yoga pose(s) makes you happy?

Backbends. There is no better feeling than surrendering to a delicious heart opener.

Describe yourself in three words.

Observant - I notice EVERYTHING

Funny - I give 12 year old boy humor. Those that know me well know this.

Honest - I absolutely cannot lie.

What three items would you bring with you on a deserted island?

Berkey water filter

Kindle

Heater (I’m always cold)

What's a pet peeve that you would make illegal if you could?

Talking on speakerphone in public. Standing too close in a line. Playing loud music while hiking. Being late and not respecting others' time. Generally just being unaware or uncaring of your surroundings and other people gets me going.

If you were to DJ your own life, what song or songs would you play in the background as you made your way through the day?

I don’t think I could pick one or even several. I LOVE music. It also depends on my current vibe. The only genres I don't love are Country (there are a couple songs that are okayish) and classical. I could probably be swayed to Country, it would be hard though! My current obsession is with Southern Indie/Rock. I’m always down for some EDM and a good rave.

What is your most used emoji?

Heart, heart eyes, kissy face and laughing face

What is your favorite Knock-knock joke or silly/bad joke?

How do you fit an Elephant in a Safeway bag?

I don’t know. How?

You take the “S’ out of safe and the “F” out of way.

Answer: There is no f in way.

Choose one famous person from history you want on your team during a zombie apocalypse.

Keanu Reeves. He seems like the kindest level-headed soul, but also a badass if provoked. Because let’s be honest, I’m gonna need someone that’s going to be kind to me in that stressful situation.

Are you sunrise, daylight, twilight or night? Why?

Probably sunrise, but please don’t talk to me in my first hour of being awake. It’s not that I even need coffee, I just need time to come to life again. I turn into a potato after about 7pm.

What is a current trend that you don’t understand?

Cringey social media influencers.

What is something you are really great at cooking?

Reservations

How long have you been teaching?

I have been teaching for 11 years.

Do you have any other hobbies other than practicing yoga?

I am a dabbler of MANY hobbies. Drawing, jewelry making, quilt making, anything DIY! Currently obsessed with weight training about 5 days a week and diving into learning more about nutrition and all things health related.

If you were the captain of a pirate ship, what would be the name of your ship?

RHYU

Anything else? Is there a surprising fun fact you'd like to share?

I’m pretty much a mystery until you get to know me. And getting to know me takes about a year. That’s the amount of time I need to trust someone enough to truly share myself on a deeper level and move beyond

basic pleasantries. So settle in for a while to get this one answered if you have the patience :)
